Leaptel Unoffical Discord is here!!!! (now discontinued)
For some reason I like Leaptel and if I needed a new ISP would be plugging their website into my web browser for a look see. Good to see a discord starting for them.

NBN Business fibre expansion areas.
Here is a list of place where businesses can have fibre connect if they currently don't. From what I can tell, if only if you spend a pretty good sum on a connection so probably not that helpful for very small businesses. I also wonder if its useful for those wondering where the residential fibre up...

Re: My review of Superloop - Feb 21st to Sep 21st 7 months
The dropouts when I was with Superloop were not NBN nor Node related. As I said, Superloop published an explanation. They were using "bleeding edge" routers that would not play nice and it took them and the router support staff some time to get it all sorted. From what I can gather they chose this e...

Antivirus software.
I'm really just questioning whether paying for it is worth it. I don't usually visit warez sites or other places that might load a virus. Also careful with email. My last Anti Virus was Kaspersky and it was terrible. It seemed to commandeer my system and took lots of setting changes to try and keep ...

A couple of little programs if find useful.
Here are a couple little programs I recommend... I use an online password vault also the browser but just in case they are lost of just don't work any more I have a little portable program called KeyPass. It is a simple little program that can create passwords and stores them encrypted into a local ...

Re: Energy Provider
Yes very interesting. The wholesale price of electricity can swing wildly and sometimes be in the 10's of dollars not the 15c shown there. I think January is the worst month for that type of thing. Customers would have to accept that some months they will save a lot but in other months they might be...

Nice idea but I can't help thinking they are asking for complaints. If they consistently outdoor other ISP's then fine.. but will that happen?

wow now that's a great bargain for a life time VPN I already have a few VPN providers i use 2 of them are life time :) I often wonder about these "life time" plans.. how on earth do they make money.. Do they send ads through, keep records to sell to potential retailers. I just don't understand it.

This seems to be dragging on a bit. I'm watching to see how they actually deal with it. Given they have to go through AAPT one has to wonder what options they really have.

Question around pricing.
This is for anyone who is in the now around the pricing. As I understand it, and I might be wrong. They have 3 different prices they charge for any one plan. It looks to me as if they have two different prices for their vocus supported connection and a third price for their own supported connections...

Re: My review of Superloop - Feb 21st to Sep 21st 7 months
I tried out Superloop some time ago. Not a good experience. The internet was constantly dropping out and getting lots of mixed messages from them as to the cause. To make matters worse, support was very hard to reach and it had been this way long before the drop outs started. I decided to move elsew...

Windows backup.
I would like to give a shout out to windows backup in Windows 10, latest build... there is still a windows 7 backup and restore program in the Control Panel. It allows you to create a "system image" and restore that image should things go awry with the system. I had not used it before until this yea...

Re: Aussie listing on the ASX.
Not sure what to make of all this. I went through the IInet float as a customer. To be honest nothing really changed for the first couple of years and then I started to hear of long delays getting a hold of support and that seems to be where they tried to save money. The network itself always seemed...

My favourite keyboard and mouse.
I've tried a few different ones including a good mechanical one that I still have in the cupboard but my favourite Keyboard is a keyboard/mouse combo. It is the MK370R. I like the keyboard because it has a set up buttons at the top that control the volume, mute, email etc. I don't really use the ema...

Yea.. invoices were a little late but they have been late before. I can imagine its been a really busy month and lots of vouchers to process and make sure they are all applied to the accounts correctly. They will need to get some automation sorted given they only have a few staff and a growing custo...

Re: Typical Evening Speeds 100Mbps ISPS NBN
This is interesting in that these speeds are now changing as a result of over provisioning. Especially how Telstra now say their nbn100 plan offer 100mbs. Also what is itneresting is how some ISP are allowed to get away with not providing a speed or making one so broad it could mean anything.

Re: Providers at $100 or Below For 100/20 & 100/40 plans to trial out some day
The problem with Luantel is the price. They have three prices for each services... Two different prices for vocus connects and another again for their own. If you are on the cheaper Vocus price then the pricing is not that bad, just a little higher compared to elsewhere. I think we might find a sign...

Windows Crop
Hi,
I use the windows Win/shft/S to crop bit of the screen. Does anyone know if they have a way to quickly dump it into a JPG file or do you have to go via Paint or something?
Thanks.
