Hello Everyone, hope everyone is safe and doing well
Been meaning to write this yesterday but been busy with other things in life, Also it's nice NBNCO gave me two upgrades this year
From 250/25 to 1000/50 beats having to wait till next year
So here is my official review for the 1000/50 Launtel Plan , i tried on the 4th December 2020 - some may not like the results some may like the results and i'll give my official opinion if it's worth it or not for those wanting to try it or not
Here is a funny picture because we need happiness during all this doom and gloom year
Here is my official findings and take note: i'm hardwired via cat6 to an Asus Router 68u - Room via roof to living room via hardwired to router then HFC Black Box
Account switch Image: Pretty sure with all the testing i caused my POI to stress a bit, sorry launtel only way to proper test the service: Testing different DNS below from Asus Router 68u
Using Launtel DNS: GoogleDNS Trial: GoogleDNS 2 Trial: CloudFlare DNS Trial: CloudFlare DNS 2 Trial: Level3 DNS Trial: Comodo DNS Trial: Adguard DNS Trial: DYNDNS Trial: OpenDNS Trial: Yandex DNS Trial: SafeDNS Trial: That would be interesting for those who want to see strange results
Now for Local and International speeds into having 1Gbps performs, you won't really notice any major difference between 250/25 & 400/50 compared to the 1Gbps it pretty much only good for showing off speedtest's that's all, it won't increase downloading from steam etc because they don't have the capacity for output speed no doubt
(Local Australia)
Foxtel Broadband: Melb Foxtel Broadband: (International for things i use it for)
Los Angeles CA: Singapore: Haarlem Netherlands: Since it makes no major difference if i'm on 400Mbps/50Mbps or 1000Mbps/50Mbps pretty much i see no difference majorly in speed wise
When i was on (250Mbps/25Mbps below)
(International on 250Mbps/25Mbps)
Los Angeles CA: Singapore: Haarlem Netherlands: I will do another thread for the 400Mbps/50Mbps comparing all 3 plans for HFC at my location, then next week make a big mega thread giving my thoughts on it
Now Is 1000Mbps/50Mbps worth it? to me NO
All it's good for is showing off speed tests to friends, once you get over that and it gets old it's like meh ok i had a chance to try 1Gbps speeds it's nothing special when comparing 400/50 & 250/25
Only time you may ever need 1000Mbps/50Mbps is an example: if you had a lan party with a few friends for a long weekend, and they all bring over there laptops/desktops for a gaming mesh/FTP/downloading/etc
Other then that i'm quiet happy with my 400Mbps/50Mbps unlimited account
i know what i've said might not be a popular opinion, just speaking from my own current experience
Thanks all for reading, stay safe out there!
