Antivirus software.

I'm really just questioning whether paying for it is worth it. I don't usually visit warez sites or other places that might load a virus. Also careful with email. My last Anti Virus was Kaspersky and it was terrible. It seemed to commandeer my system and took lots of setting changes to try and keep things running smoothly. After I decided to ditch it, just deleting it turned into an exercise and a half. Before that I had Malwarebytes and felt it was pretty good, not every intrusive, did not bog down the system. The main reason for for stopping to use it was my subscription ran out and I could not find a new one at a reasonable price. Now I just use Windows defender to be perfeclty honest I think it is doing the job without any pop ups nor system load. I am thinking that the paid ones are not worth the extra money to buy them. I wondering what other people think.
