I am familiar with Fibremax ( VLAN 100 ) last year, and intend to try out Launtel amongst others, including some listed above, largely depending on the Broadbanbd landscape post December 2020.
Ideally, no contract ( hence is "risk" is 30 days or less ), no VLAN since existing equipment does not support it for the WAN side, no forced hardware bundles, no forced VOIP, non-gamer and can take a performance hit where inevitable with a focus on Asian connectivity from QLD. Support is a not a priority since most issues are already taken care of eg VDSL2 FttN sync rates.

The problem with Luantel is the price. They have three prices for each services... Two different prices for vocus connects and another again for their own. If you are on the cheaper Vocus price then the pricing is not that bad, just a little higher compared to elsewhere. I think we might find a significant number of people churn away after their six month 'special price' has ended.
I love the idea of being able to vary the speed, pause at will as it gives people who don't use the internet all the time (or that particular connection). I can see it really useful for 5 day a week businesses and people who commute between two residences etc.
I know a number of people say they will stay on a cheaper plan and only move to a faster one when they need to download something. I'm sure a number of people will religiously do this but I have to wonder if over time it simply becomes too much bother.
Having said all that. I like the company, I like the owner (such as one can but via his social media appearances) and I will keep this company on my short list should I look for a new ISP.
