OVH.FR - Discovery VOIP SIP line

#150

Post by Wamuran4512CH »

I have this setup for my folks in Brissie ( +61 7 xxxxxxxx ) using 2 lines - one German from South Germany +49 xxxxxxxx ( EU ) and one Swiss from Zürich +41 xxxxxxxx ( non-EU technically ).

Additionally, I am a long term client of the OVH Group for, amongst other things, VPS and dedicated Kimsufi servers. But just about anyone with Paypal from Australia can take this French offer IF fitting, not from the limited OVH Australia site, but directly from the their French site, as I've done for several SMEs based in SE Qld with an international focus.

URL in French: https://www.ovhtelecom.fr/telephonie/

Browser to use: Try using Google Chrome with machine translation if French is not well understood.

VOIP SIP Discovery Offer - VoIP Découverte in French

What the long-standing offer entails:

Calls included to these countries, landlines unless specified otherwise:

In French

Allemagne, Argentine, Australie, Autriche, Belgique, Brésil, Canada, Chili, Chine, Chypre, Colombie, Danemark, Espagne, France métropolitaine, Royaume Uni, Grèce, Hong-Kong, Hongrie, Irlande, Israël, Italie, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malaisie, Mexique, Norvège, Nouvelle Zélande, Panama, Pays Bas, Pologne, Portugal, Pérou, Russie, Singapour, Slovaquie, Suisse, Suède, Taïwan, Thaïlande, USA, Vénézuela.

Or when translated:

Germany, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, Metropolitan France, United Kingdom, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Panama, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Peru, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Venezuela.

Limitation of the offer that one has note to avoid unnecessary potential extra charges:

Unlimited calls, to a max of 99 unique numbers per month, each call lasting no more than 60 minutes long ( try 58 mins just to play safe - this is mainly to avoid abuse by eg Call Centers - hang up at 58 mins and call again for another 58 mins - free )

I've never paid a cent more than EUR0.99 a month for years - having avoided their EU / national VAT ( as a non-EU resident, just like most of you - Australians are VAT exempt )

Choose a DID from different countries and regions to your taste - unlimited free inbound calls to your VOIP end point be it a VOIP SIP softphone ( eg to Zoiper or Grandstream Wave ), ATA or IP device ( Gigaset, Yealink etc. ) much the same as the normal VOIP providers in Straya eg SIPTalk, MNF, Crazytel, Aussie BB etc. hence setup shouldn't pose too much of a challenge for most.

Terms and Conditions of the long-standing offer in French:

https://www.ovhtelecom.fr/telephonie/vo ... uverte.xml

Basically, call inclusions are to landlines on a month to month "contract" terminate at will, and choose another DID etc. should you need to even from an entirtely different supported country.

Some questions & answers:

How do I pay my OVH Telecom bill?

The amount of your consumption is automatically paid with the payment method entered in your customer area.
Your OVH Télécom bill can be paid with the following payment methods: credit card, SEPA direct debit ( European only ), PayPal

If no payment method has been registered or your payment method has expired, please register a new one from your Customer area > Billing > My means of payment.

In this example, I opted for Leer of Ostfriesland, Germany ( where I recently was for a short break to Borkum island ):

or Geneva the French speaking area of south west of Switzerland:

Do not choose extras as you'd likely have them already eg an ATA if not way cheaper down under than from the EU nor of the call inclusions to mobiles, unless required:

( write to OVH or send a ticket and show proof of residency in Straya to have the French VAT waived off permanently on your OVH account ).
