Well half of "today" was spent sleeping in, woke up only in the noon due to some
recent change in hours, probably due to a temporary adaption to AEST :)

After cracking the whip to ensure the Mods & Admins of some newish forum in Ozzieland
do their bloody jobs, I did some long overdue shopping - duty free that is, across the border
to a tiny town called Jestetten for some essential items, mainly ciggies, some meat & Amazon goods ( SSD ) since they do not deliver here to this tiny country.

ImageImageImage

I noticed a billboard at a connecting railway station - it seems my ISP is yet again flogging a much overpriced product ( I get it for CHF29 a month no contracts unlimited Cable coax aka NBN HFC - NTD = Technicolor TG3492LG-LC ) to the clueless folk here with a rather high and poor Contention Ratios. If these peeps only knew of options available to them.

ImageImageImage

There appeared to be an unusual number of French speaking visitors to this part
of the tiny country where German is typically spoken. It then dawned upon me that
today was still the Federal Fast Monday for these folk & that tomorrow would be Mauritius Day, not forgetting that Friday 25th will be the St. Nicholas of Flüe holiday & hence an opportunity to shop duty-free, if not downright smuggling :P

My Canton of Zürich has long run out of public holidays with nothing slated prior
to DST change on Sunday 25th October.

So I returned with the duty-free loot, prepared dinner after updating Linux kernels on
several machines as well as remote ones, decided to post this off :)

The weather is windy by dry...so to tackle the back yard...

As we get down the back corner..

Of course nothing gets done without supervision..

And if it looks like I might miss a bit...

Until finally we are finished..

And I get a visit from the boss..

And of course we have to give the new lawn a test..

It is good to just go for a walk... clear out the cobwebs. I sort of did the opposite today. Bit chilly, windy and rain later in the day where I live. i spent the day de-cluttering the house and generally tiding up. Watched a game of NRL and a game of Counter Strke.... then washed a couple of loads of washing... Just up now waiting for the dryer to finish.

Today was eventful. Had someone robbed on my footpath so spent some time backing up all the video of that incase the cops come calling. Then I went shopping at Aldi for a few things. When I got home I then swapped out a small SSD in my PC for a larger one. Bit of a process of creating a drive image, making a bootable USB, restoring the image onto the new SSB and then expanding the partition to take up the extra room
I was genuinely surprised it actually worked without a single hiccup..

Today Penny and I went to the local coffee shop for a coffee... just timed it right as it has been raining with more threatening. Outside table and chair. Then I spent a good amount of time trying to get my camera to appear in Windows explorer...and on my mobile phone. What a drama that turned into but finally got that sorted.
Then I rigged up a bag of wheel nuts and a piece of string so the back door be closed but will swing open and can be opened from the outside by Penny. She has a doggy door in the laundry but her mobility is reducing so the big door will be better. She has figured it out already so that was a success.
Cooked some bacon and eggs for lunch in the middle of all that as well...
I think that pretty much sums up my day.
