These are the cars of my live...
These photos are all just off the web to show the type of car except for the last one, the ute, that's mine.
As a youngin I drove around in the back of one of these. I can remember helping my father bog it up, sand and spray paint it with cans of spray paint. Rust bucket.
Meanwhile this was the last car my father owned. Wrote it off by flipping down a NT highway.
He was what I would describe as "not your typical father" . Made it into the papers once..
He ended up getting a head bleed after a bar fight in Katherine and passing away from it. Seriously. He was good to his family however but still not average.
This is what my first car looked like... I had to strip the engine every six months and replace the head gasket... A known problem with this model.
Then I sold it to the wreckers and bought one of these.. Comfy but always ran hot...
Then I traded it in on one of these.. Good car but gutless... had to wind it up when overtaking.
Then fell on hard times. Homeless in Sydney.. slept in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park for a few weeks... and had to downgrade.
Traded that in on this. I bought it from "beats walkin' in Granville. It was one of those cars in the back of the lot and cost me more to roadworthy then it was to buy. But it was very reliable, I clocked prolly a 100k in that thing..
Saved the $$ and traded it on one of these.. I don't think there were many series 2 around. Came with free services. The only diference to other series was the yellow blinker behind the front wheel.. Orange whilst others were White. OK car but had its mech issues.
Finally traded it in on my latest ride... It is a 2013 but only done about 27k km so far, I try and keep it close to showroom as possible. No addons or anything...just tinted the windows.

Re: The Cars of our lives.
Let's see...
Started with a used 1977 HX Holden, base model I think. Greeny colour,
Traded that in on a new 1985 2.0L Petrol Hilux Xtra-Cab lemon yellow colour.
Traded that in on a new 1990 Petrol Camry sedan - Rouge red.
Picked up a used White Petrol Daihatsu Rocky probably 1985 maybe. Guy was moving overseas.
Traded Camry and Rocky in on a used Pajero Wagon 1995 Petrol GLX model green/silver with bull bar and side steps.
Traded that in on a 2008 Black Mitsubishi Petrol i30 sports. Still drive that to this day.
Don't know what I'd get next.

Re: The Cars of our lives.
Oooh! I like this topic
Started off when I was 16/17 driving a 1982 Toyota Crown - mate it was like a little limo, flash interior, electric windows, awesome sound system, a mini fridge that held a six pack in the back cooled by the aircon and it was solid as a fkn tank. I felt invincible driving that thing haha (probably not the best thing for a 16/17 brand new driver though!)
Then when that died in the arse after we picked up some other type of Toyota Crown, it was not as flash but was larger due to it being a wagon not a sedan. Also solid AF! But it was old, and did not last us long.
When I moved over to QLD and met my lovely wife we had a few crappy cars to get us by, one was an old escort that had half been done up, the other was some other stupid thing that did the job for a few years until we picked up this cool little Nissan Pulsar. We drove that thing for probably 5 years and then sold it for what we paid for it to a buddy at my work. He loved that thing for another 8 or so years haha.
We both ended up with some Lancers a few years in, I loved mine. My lovely wifes lancer though was like a B Boy car with a massive body kit and rims on it, it did look pretty cool but it was a bit girly.
Then we got rid of those and purchased two brand new cars. A 2012 D22 Navara and 2013 Mitsi Lancer VRX

Thought I'd also sneak my weapon of a boat into the last image haha

The Lancer is great, once those revs get up a bit something kicks in and it boots! Certainly not a turbo but it feels like it haha
The Nav is my baby, it was stock standard when purchased and we have chipped away at kitting it out for the kind of outdoor activites we like to do. It's not the best 4wd around, but it pretty much goes anywhere and has not failed me yet I'd be a sad sad boy should it get written off, I'd hate to have to start again with something else! It's been in the bush, to the beach, in the mud, stuck half way up a tree, half drowned, has towed/winched out a bunch of different 4wd's but the best was a 2t Cruiser with a 4t boat suck in stupidly soft sand haha
