Comparison.

Post by Wilson »

This is just going to be a quick impression of two store bought PC.s

I bought a Acer Predator from Harvey Norman. One of their higher grade gaming machines. It can't play graphic intensive games for more then a few minutes before crashing back to destop. System has been restored. Windows has been reinstalled direct (not system restore) and all drivers around the graphics card updated. Motherboard drivers from Acer also undated but still no dice. Total crap machine unless you are doing something other then gaming.. then its sweet.

I also bought a HP gaming machine from Officeworks. And it has been trouble free. One thing I did notice is compared to the Acer it is miles ahead inside the case. Everything is nicely squared away, room for bigger (physically) graphics card, slide in slots for more HD's, easy access to memory. The Acer was a mess, no room for expansion. There is a place you can try and fit another HD but its super tight and a real pain space and cable wise.. Not at all user friendly.

In short, Acer sucks. HP for the win.

Yeah Acer don't have a good name for laptops.

Give that to the wife and claim the HP for yourself. :-)

I've only bought Dells over the last 20 years or so, last one a 17" XPS.

Yep, HP for us too ( their software brethren can be a pain though ).

The NBN, like Paul Fletcher's diet, needs more fibre - Applied liberally
