Slow speeds affecting some.

#172

Post by Dawn Thunder »

Been reading that Future have got some customers who can't get more than 86MB's. Other might be able to offer more insight but it looks like its some NSW HFC customers. Latest response according to someone who has lodged a ticket is they are working on a fix..just doing testing at the moment.
Its unclear if this is a IP-Line AAPT issue or a NBN issue. Given that some seem to be reporting that the slower speeds only happened after signing up with Future its hard to accept that it's a NBN issue. The other thing that is no clear is whether its something that AAPT want to fix.

Yep i'm one of them in NSW not able to get faster than 85Mbps speeds

However i'm awaiting for a service rebuild tomorrow at 3am and hopefully that fixes the speed issue

Will report back if everything works as planned and i'm able to get faster speeds

So far the Service has been rock solid just some minor annoyance still a positive experience for me

I hope they sort it out for those of you affected.

I think I read it is only on the speedtests but to my knowledge no one has posted that a download from a CDS or website is also affected.

Back in the glorious ADSL days on Node we used to download a large file from their server as a true speed test.

Anyone done similar and what speed did you get?

Update Guys, more investigating is required at AAPT-IPLINE to figure out why i can't get higher then 85Mbps and to me it seems to only be a NSW issue

(Prior to joining Future Broadband) this is what i was getting with Aussie Broadband

Telstra Sydney: https://www.speedtest.net/result/10095889962
I don't understand how i was getting 98Mbps at Aussie Broadband one day and only 85Mbps the next at Future Broadband

When i was with FBB and affected by this (churned away because of this reason), it did not matter where i was downloading from. I would monitor Task Manager and i would not see it go more than 85-87mbps. At times it would shoot up to around 90 then back down.

This seems to be dragging on a bit. I'm watching to see how they actually deal with it. Given they have to go through AAPT one has to wonder what options they really have.

Hello Guys (Don't take me wrong) i'm not bashing them and they are trying there best to get things sorted

just after some advice given the latest report still waiting for further updates according to Future Broadband

Future Broadband believes theirs a config issue between NBN and AAPT(TPG) and this is why i'm unable to get faster speeds then 85Mbps anytime of the day or night

What would be a reasonable time to expect before i've had enough and just churned to another ISP?

Given i joined Future Broadband on 21st september 2020 and been having these sorta speeds since day 1

Just wonder what would be a reasonable time before any drastic action by churning to another ISP

Given Future Broadband pride themselves on selling a "Business Grade Connection" to it's Residential home users

a) Reach Jason directly, bypass eg Michael to ensure / pre-empt that Jason cannot plead ignorance later on.

b) Give them the flick within 4 weeks from 21st September 2020 if no permanent fix has been identified AND applied.

c) Do your research properly when choosing an RSP for your NBN HFC connection - Telstra ??

IF I was in your shoes that is. Otherwise, kindly ignore.

I read a post the other day on another forum where an effected customer churned away to another RSP and it went back to full speed. then customer churned back to FBB and it remained fixed. Ill try and find the post later and link to it.

Yes a tad but i'm still not happy and my first experience with Future Broadband hasn't been a good one

I will see what i do at the end of the year

Most likely i'll be churning to another ISP

I'll keep everyone posted what happens between now and then
